I stayed at this airport hotel because it was the most economical hotel in the class I wanted in Christchurch. I would have preferred closer to town, but this worked out fine since there was a bus stop right outside the door, with frequent routes to the city center for only NZ $2.10. (I heard that NZ halved all public transportation prices because of Covid, then extended them because of Cyclone Gabriel.). So it took anywhere between 15 and 35 minutes to/from the city. Very easy. My room is as quiet, clean and the bed was comfortable. Had the usual tea kettle, coffee pot and refrigerator. There is a strip mall with a grocery store, so I bought breakfast food there, since the hotel breakfast was too pricey for me at $35, and there was a good coffee shop there too with breakfast food. Ate at an Indian restaurant at that mall which was awful. The Mexican restaurant was good. Would highly recommend this option of staying at a nice hotel at the airport not only because it’s affordable, but because I didn’t have to lug my luggage into the city.

Exceptionally polite helpful staff. We stayed there on the first and last days of our 17 day trip to New Zealand. On the 1st stay the staff very considerately let us transfer the breakfast that was included in the 2nd stay over to the first stay as we were leaving to fly home too early to have it on the 2nd stay. We were able to enjoy an excellent smorgasboard breakfast. On the 2nd stay we were given a surprise free upgrade. This was totally unexpected but very much appreciated. The room was lovely. The beds and pillows in both the rooms were great. We always stay at the Sudima Christchurch Airport when travelling to New Zealand and will continue to do so. Thank you Sudima

Over and above, I messaged regarding my daughter with her coeliacs disease and anorexia nervosa, asking if there was access to a microwave anywhere so that I could heat her particular dinner. They replied that there wasn’t however, when we arrived we were informed that a microwave had been placed especially in our room along with a plate and cutlery. This made my life so much easier, I was planning on walking to the airport to use the microwave in a parents room. This was extremely thoughtful and conscientious of staff to follow through with this. Thank you so much!

Great location just a five minute stroll from the international arrival hub. Very good reception and extremely helpful staff and concierge 'Gus'. rooms are light and quiet. the hotel appears almost new and if not is kept immaculately clean. We used this as a drop off for our car and next flight to North Island. Nearby shops and restaurants were almost adjacent making our choice perfect. If you have additional time to 'kill' then a must visit is to the Antarctic centre just two minutes along the same road. well worth it to complete your stay on South Island.

Arrived to drop off cases about 3 hours before check in and they gave us an available room there and then, very appreciative of this! Bar was nice environment, though stocks were low on some spirits.
